Sketchbooking in the Scottish Highlands

2 hour creative well-being experience

This 2-hour course invites clients to reimagine their travel experiences and transform their sketchbook into more than a simple souvenir. Through a creative well-being experience encompassing a guided walk through the historic grounds of the Altyre Estate — clients will explore fresh, creative approaches to capturing their journeys. Moving beyond traditional methods, they'll learn how these diverse tools can deepen engagement with place, enhancing both their sketchbooking and the way they experience the world. Ideal for those seeking to create meaningful, layered records of their travels, this course will inspire new ways of seeing and documenting.The experience will be led by a GSA creative who will guide and inspire clients to creatively capture their experiences. Clients will be given a sketchbook and materials will be provided. 

Course outcomes:

  • Reflection in your approach to sketchbooking in order to enhance originality in recording travel memories

  • Develop skills and processes that encourage you to have an experimental and explorative approach to your environment​

  • Develop a community of practice

10am - 12pm & 3pm - 5pm​

Price: £150 + £50 for lunch add on​​

Creative Lead for Future Skills

Rachel joins the Future Skills team as a part-time designer alongside her role as Teaching Assistant for the MDes Design Innovation courses at GSA’s Highlands and Islands campus. The highlands campus is a perfect backdrop to explore her background in design and illustration in a deeper way, being surrounded by nature and her love of the environment. Fueled by big thinking and creativity, Rachel embraces any challenge, equipped with her love of illustration, making, and passion for design for positive change.
