Today’s complex world demands a more responsible approach to business - Regenerative Leadership responds to these demands by creating a framework for sustainable, long-term success. Traditional leadership models are relics of the past, they assume resources are infinite, external influences are nonexistent, and people are expendable, focusing on short-term gains at the expense of long-term success. This course empowers leaders to drive sustainable change through nature-inspired, creative problem-solving and holistic management.

What you will learn:

Introduction

. In this module, you'll learn to gather and analyze insights effectively, enabling you to uncover the root causes and broader contexts of complex problems. By developing strong critical thinking and research methodologies, you'll gain the tools to approach challenges with depth and precision. The focus will be on building a robust foundation for innovative solutions, ensuring that your decisions are informed by thorough analysis and a comprehensive understanding of the issues at hand. These skills will empower you to tackle problems with confidence and create meaningful, sustainable change.

Module 1: Research

. In this module, you'll learn creative thinking techniques to generate diverse solutions, such as divergent and lateral thinking. You'll also develop skills to facilitate brainstorming sessions, creating inclusive environments and using structured methods to guide idea generation. Additionally, you'll explore collaborative tools like digital whiteboards to refine ideas in real time and foster innovation in diverse teams, leveraging cross-disciplinary collaboration and iterative prototyping for refined, impactful solutions. You'll also focus on enhancing team dynamics, learning how to guide diverse groups toward collective innovation. This includes fostering open communication, encouraging multiple perspectives, and ensuring every voice is heard. The module will equip you with the ability to manage group dynamics effectively, using both in-person and digital platforms to maintain engagement and momentum. By the end, you’ll be skilled in turning creative ideas into actionable plans, driving innovation that aligns with sustainability and social impact goals.

Module 2: Ideate

. In this module, you'll learn how to transform ideas into tangible prototypes, gaining practical skills in creating models, simulations, and pilot projects. You'll develop the ability to bring abstract concepts to life through hands-on experience, using tools and techniques to build functional prototypes that demonstrate your vision. The focus will be on rapid iteration, teaching you how to quickly refine and improve designs based on feedback. You’ll explore methods for gathering user input, analyzing results, and incorporating changes efficiently. By mastering these processes, you’ll be equipped to continuously enhance your prototypes, driving innovation and ensuring your solutions are both practical and impactful.

Module 3: Prototyping

. In this module, you'll master the art of communicating solutions to stakeholders by developing compelling narratives and visual presentations that clearly convey your ideas and their potential impact. You'll learn techniques to lead persuasive conversations, ensuring you can foster buy-in from diverse audiences, including decision-makers and collaborators. Supported by curated reading lists, engaging videos, and regular assessments, the course equips you with both practical skills and theoretical understanding. By the end, you’ll be prepared to communicate effectively as a regenerative leader, ready to tackle today’s most complex challenges.

Charlie Kleboe-Rogers  ​

Creative Lead for Future Skills 

Passionate about design, Charlie thrives on facilitating and networking, particularly with those new to design. Charlie brings diverse experience spanning education, transport, data, and the care sector to name a few. Since joining in February 2024, Charlie inspires people and orginisations to explore innovative design approaches. Beyond academia, they own and run a farm in East Ayrshire with their partner Jonathan and two dogs, Nessie and Angus, infusing their work with a unique rural perspective. Committed to fostering collaboration and creativity, Charlie aims to make a positive impact through design innovation.

Am I eligible for this course?

. You would be well equipped for this course with a packet of post-it notes, a notebook or sketchbook and a good pen of your choosing. Innovators love sharpies (we don’t know why)

What should I bring to the course?

. Don't worry, everyone has creativity within them. We will provide exercises and activities to help draw your creativity out!

What if I am not creative?

. All the courses available on Glasgow School of Art's Future Skills are eligible for a certificate of completion. Participants will also be able to walk away with a badge to add to their social channels to show they completed a course.
